9 unarmed men were killed by Israeli Defense Forces who boarded the ship, the Mavi Marmarna, bound from Turkey to bring food, clothing and medical supplies to the people of Gaza on May 31, 2010.  They each have a special story. This series of paintings were done between 2010-2012 in memorial to these martyrs for human rights and dignity.
